We are seeking a qualified Technical Training Instructor to support a premium automotive OEM at their State-of-the-Art OEM training facility in Northern New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for improving the diagnostic capabilities of professional dealership technicians.
The primary purpose of this role is the training of dealership technicians in the diagnostic strategies and proper repair of vehicle systems by facilitating service technical training classes at the Regional Training Center.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicle workshops and vehicles for experiential learning
- Facilitate training classes for dealership technicians, with the goal of improving diagnosis and repair competencies
- Ensure Regional Training Facility, tools, student guides, literature, vehicles, and training center are properly maintained
- Verify learners’ understanding of the subject matter using competency-based training
- Identify additional training needs based on learners’ feedback and assessment of skills
- Maintain attendee training records in learning portal
- Collaborate regularly with Corporate, Regional, and Dealership team members to accomplish Corporate, Regional, and Training and Development goals
- Ability to travel and train at additional locations within the US and Canada as required (must have a valid passport)
- Assist Corporate Training staff in the development of technical training curriculum as required
- Assist the Technical Training Program Manager with scheduling for effective coverage of curriculum
- Continually enhance technical instructional facilitation skills, technical knowledge of vehicle systems, and diagnostic technology
- Comply with health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment in the Training Center
- Maintain shop cleanliness and follow published 5S standards
- Maintain a professional relationship with customers and supplier personnel
- Maintain and use equipment in the workshop to operational standard
- Take reasonable pre-cautions to protect company vehicles
- Additional responsibilities as directed by the Technical Training Program Manager
Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience in automotive technical repair and diagnostics
- 3 or more years of work experience training OEM dealership technicians
- Knowledge and experience with electric vehicle technology (high voltage repairs and procedures)
- Professional Certification (OEM Master Technician or ASE Master technician)
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Experience preparing classrooms, workshops, and vehicles for Technical Training and student learning
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Automotive Technology
- Must have a valid driver’s license

The disclosed range estimate may not have been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At MSXI, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95k to $105k based on current experience.
