We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced automotive Technical Support Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic start-up organisation. As the key European launch market, we are looking for an automotive Technical Support Engineer to join the team reporting to the Customer Service Manager.

 

The Role

As a Technical Support Engineer you will be responsible for implementing the aftersales technical strategy across the UK network & internal functions (Port of Entry & PR/Fleet). 

As part of this role, the Technical Support Engineer will:

 

  • offer remote assistance via desktop and or a virtual private network
  • meet with customers to support in vehicle concerns
  • translate and prepare TSB information for the UK market, including the update and revision of already existing TSB’s for the UK market
  • Translate, prepare and effectively implement Service Recalls & Campaigns information
  • be responsible for the 1st point of rest process, procedures and all PDI functions, including the fitment of accessories
  • manage and support continuous improvement activities
  • create and implement policies and processes for the effective maintenance of stock vehicles
  • create, set and sustain an enhanced PDI and Quality Standards for the UK.
  • create, set & sustain a Customer Acceptance Standard for sold vehicles awaiting delivery
  • support new vehicle model Launch activities
  • coach and mentor our client’s agencies in client aftersales processes
  • support our client Technical Advisor & provide cover for when absent
  • develop, accurately maintain KPI reports and submit on a timely basis raising issues, potential or real, as identified (Technical/Quality/Warranty)

 

This role will be predominantly based in Upper Heyford but there will be occasional national and international travel, applicants must hold a Clean driving licence. 

 

About you

The Technical Support Engineer must be an automotive technical specialist, who is proactive, consumer centric, has an eye for detail and has the desire to perform a pivotal role in the most exciting new premium car brand in the UK. 

 

Our ideal candidate will:

  • be trained and certification to Master Technician’ status or equivalent
  • be able to investigate, report on and diagnose complex vehicle systems, either “hands on” or remotely
  • have good working knowledge of aftersales systems and processes
  • have significant experience working within a technical support function, offering support to agencies via different media i.e., online, telephone and face to face
  • understand the UK automotive industry and be passionate about car
  • thrive in a fast-paced environment and you can focus on multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time
  • be able to identify opportunities, and prepare and execute plans to achieve your targets
  • Have experience of working effectively in an international matrix organisation structure

 

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must hold a Clean driving licence and able to support at multiple locations within the UK requiring some overnight travel.

  • 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
  • Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire
  • Saturday working on a rota basis
