Title:  Service Labor Time Technician

This position is responsible for the development and production of all aspects of content required within labor time repair information, primarily within the automotive industry. These aspects include, but are not limited to: labor time procedures, technical bulletin labor times, pre-delivery inspection labor times, paint labor times and others that are required. Requires bumper-to-bumper automotive technician experience in all aspects of removal, installation, assembly and disassembly procedures and all general technical duties and capabilities. Must have automotive flat rate technician experience, knowledge of all automotive special and general tool use and practices. This position may involve interface with multiple clients and internal teams.  Ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks assigned.



  • Perform all necessary technical functions to develop track and record Labor Time Procedures for automotive OEM applications. Including but not limited to:
    • Vehicle teardowns
    • Removal and installations
    • Assembly and disassembly practices
    • Maintenance procedures and specialty repair actions
  • Perform all necessary vehicle teardowns to support service, parts and owner’s manual information
  • Complete assignments to support existing business and new business; including new products and services
  • Successfully utilize procedures, records, tools, equipment, facilities, others as appropriate
  • Work with existing teams to improve communication, cooperation and operational efficiency
  • Ensure technical accuracy and safety in all studies
  • Follow-up on all client feedback
  • Identify areas for operational improvement through process or technology adjustments


Skills Required

  • Automotive Technician Experience, preferably Flat Rate Technician
  • Bumper-to-Bumper Technician Experience and practices
  • Knowledge and practical use of all automotive related tools and specialty equipment
  • Knowledge of Flat Rate time repair practices
  • Automotive Certifications
  • Ready Equipped with industry appropriate tools & tool box needed for use in flat rate technician activities. May be required to provide your own tools to perform necessary job functions

  • Professional experience in automotive labor time development preferred
  • Approximately 5 years of related experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ flat rate technician in an automotive dealership or labor time development experience required
  • Industry certifications can be required but are preferred
  • Any and all State level certifications are preferred and could be required
  • ASE certifications are required
