Title:  Parts Catalog Specialist

  • Develop technical illustrations for part identification and location per the serviceability rulings for use in the Electronic Parts Catalog
  • Release and maintain specification information for Service Parts Catalog and part procurement
  • Completed work must meet documented quality standards
  • Documented productivity requirements must be me


  • Interpret 3D math models, blueprints and reference materials
  • Develop and/or update technical illustrations to art standard for the Electronic Parts Catalog
  • Develop and/or update illustration legend information to text standards for service parts
  • Analyze, resolve and follow up supply chain issues between specifications and engineering data
  • Finalize rough layout, line work, text and modifiers
  • Provide feedback to department management and other personnel on activities that may affect a project
  • Provide technical and task assistance when needed
  • Resolve items that may affect the project’s budget, timing, and quality
  • Work with project leaders to clarify project specifications, elements, due dates, and quantities for jobs
  • Control documents according to quality system requirements
  • Manage timing to meet essential duty goals with other duty goals


Skills Required

  • Illustrator software, Team Center/Catia software working knowledge required
  • Parts product knowledge required
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Change notice timing and tracking
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • Detailed approach to follow-through on all tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to ensure efficiencies
  • Ability to multitask and interface with many personalities
  • Successful at maintaining schedules and raising issues as necessary
  • Experience working under strict timelines and schedules
  • Effective work and task organizational skills

Education / Experience Required

  • BA/BS or equivalent professional experience in applied automotive technologies, technical content development, parts catalog development or engineering discipline preferred
  • Approximately 3-5 years of related experience in technical content development using illustration and content management system tools in a production environment preferred
