40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

We are recruiting for a Warranty Materials Inspector, to join our small team of qualified ex-technicians. This is a great role for someone who wants to continue working with cars and car parts without getting your hands dirty!

 

The Role

As an integral member of the team the Warranty Materials Inspector will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of the assessment of failed motor vehicle components, paying particular attention to the components required back by the manufacturer/supplier.

 

In using your technical knowledge, you will ensure a thorough inspection of the part to ensure all claims have been verified again manufacturing standards, whether correct processes have been followed and to identify where potential defects may have occurred

 

Additionally, the Warranty Materials Inspector will also:

 

  • inspect and process accurate recording/documenting of presented components to either confirm or deny that a claimed manufacturing defect exists
  • take appropriate action in terms of processing further evaluation/tests
  • work closely with the Warranty Material Inspectors and management to ensure that KPI‘s are clearly understood and achieved ensure interaction with the client and the client’s customers is carried out with professional integrity
  • ensure all required data is captured, recorded and legible
  • ensure all accepted components are rendered unusable prior to disposing

 

About you

Our ideal Warranty Materials Inspector will be a fully qualified mechanic with around 5 years’ experience of working within vehicle repair, though we will consider candidates who have successfully completed their 2-year apprenticeship.

To be successful in this role the Warranty Materials Inspector will:

 

  • hold Level 1,2 & 3 City and Guilds in motor vehicle Technology/Electrics or equivalent
  • have knowledge of VW group vehicles
  • have knowledge and an understanding of newer vehicles
  • have a proven track record of performance within a KPI driven pressured environment
  • be able to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
  • be able to communicate effectively and proactively at all levels
  • be motivated to achieve deadlines and KPI’s
  • work well within a team

Working pattern and location

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday (Mon-Thu 8-5 and Fri: 8:30-4:15)
  • Dordon (applicants must be located within a 1-hour commute)
