Position Summary:

The Benefits Administrator will oversee the administration of all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, optical, short-term and long-term disability insurance, as well as FMLA and unemployment claims. This role is critical in ensuring that our benefits programs are competitive, sustainable, and compliant with applicable laws.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plan, 401(k) plan, and retirement plan).
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Organize and manage the annual open enrollment process; ensure effective communication and ease of process for all employees.
  • Oversee the administration of FMLA claims and coordinate unemployment claims and hearings, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and file required compliance reports with federal and state agencies. Stay abreast of current and emerging federal and state requirements.
  • Work with insurance brokers and benefits carriers to resolve issues related to plan coverage and claims disputes.
  • Provide support and counseling to employees regarding benefits and insurance coverage. Ensure employees understand their benefits and assist them with claims and questions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws including FMLA, ACA, and ERISA.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects with a strong attention to detail.
