We are looking for a seasoned Video Content Producer to support the creation of educational video content for our automotive clients. The ideal candidate has significant experience in conceptualizing, filming and delivering creative educational videos, as well as automotive technical knowledge.  This role will be responsible for filming both product (vehicle) and process videos in a compelling and impactful fashion.  You will interact regularly with client executives and will support pre-and post-production, coordinate required parts and garage personnel, and lead the shoots themselves.

 

Your focus will be the ongoing production of videos educating learners on technical repair procedures for consumer vehicles.  Most videos will be shot onsite at client’s national garage as a single camera operator running the camera, lighting and sound recording, with an emphasis on agile and modern, short-format video output.  Additional responsibilities will include video projects related to new automotive product and retail process, filmed at client locations, public spaces or dealerships. 

 

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team working in a very fast-paced environment

  • Lead pre-production activities for video and photo shoots, including:
    • Collaborate with Project Manager on scheduling and resource requirements
    • Collaborate with Production to identify best solution to achieve business objectives
    • Video scripting and storyboarding
    • Collaborate with Account team for talent selection, if required
    • Pre-production site planning and visits
    • Communicate with client regarding objectives, and present concepts
  • Lead filming
    • Collaborate with client regarding day-of requirements, including parts procurement and garage time with required vehicles and technicians
    • Set-up filming environment, including lighting
    • Execute filming as a single camera operator, including running sound
    • Manage on-screen talent
    • Obtain photography as needed
  • Post-production activities, including
    • Selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, media management and archiving project media
    • Ability to edit videos quickly to meet deadlines
    • Review final content for accuracy and fit to requirements
  • Have the ability to film with rented equipment if needed, including securing rentals
  • Assist technical training team with acquiring assets (photo and video)
  • Manage asset depository
  • Meet project deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Maintain standards of video quality and ensure that final deliverables meet brand guidelines and expectations

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a video content producer, including script writing, filming, photography, sound and lighting
  • Demonstrated expertise in video storytelling, with ability to lead a project from concept to delivery
  • Proven experience as a videographer with a portfolio showcasing diverse visual projects
  • Automotive technical knowledge to adequately conceptualize, coordinate and edit technical instructional videos.
  • Strong knowledge of videography and photography techniques, composition, and lighting
  • Experience in editing, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut Pro, a plus.
  • Knowledge of current trends in educational video to bring cutting-edge ideas to clients
  • Experience working directly with corporate clients
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects at once with aggressive deadlines
  • Proven client-centric focus with a “can-do” attitude and an emphasis on client satisfaction
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to supply filming equipment, a plus
  • Experience in editing, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut Pro, a plus.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate may not have been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At MSXi, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100k to $110k based on current experience.
